One of our mums-to-be who we are calling 'first-timer@40' is delighted and terrified at the same time about being pregnant because her baby is the result of IVF and she's worried she'll miscarry, although luckily she's over the three month danger period. The married secretary from Oxford is also bemused by her diet - cravings for junk food and complete disregard for any fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as her need for an indecent amount of sleep.
Well, we’re now into week 16 or, as I’d rather say, at the start of the fifth month. Nearly half-way through - hooray!
At last I am over the sleeplessness that has dominated the last couple of weeks - thank goodness - and the general fuzzy headed pregnancy feeling seems to be lessening.
Radiant. Glowing: Both words that cannot be used to describe me at the moment!
When I first found out I was pregnant I was so pleased but also really apprehensive about being pleased. I know this sounds really odd but I'm pregnant by means of fertility treatment and it's been a long journey. I didn't, and still don't, want to be too pleased in case anything goes wrong.
