I run my own PR company which I set up at the beginning of this year. I quit my job at a marketing agency last summer when my husband and I got married.
We then travelled the world for four months with the plan of starting a family when we came home. Working from home and having more flexibility as a mum is exactly what I wanted.
I actually found out I was pregnant while we were still away, so we were over the moon as I really believed that it would take us a long time to conceive. Being away from home and in the very early stages of pregnancy was a little bit worrying especially as we were in Thailand for the last month of the trip.
Making it to the 12 week mark and having that first scan was the biggest relief to us both, we were so emotional when we saw the heart beat. You don't realise until you fall pregnant how worrying those early stages can be. Less than 24 hours after the scan I started bleeding really heavily.
We were terrified and I assumed the worst. Luckily the baby was fine and since then I've had an easy pregnancy.
We don't know the sex so we're really excited to find out when the baby comes! Now that I'm nearly 8 months some things are a bit harder! I'll be updating you on a weekly basis between now and the big day an honest account of what the last 6 weeks of pregnancy are like!
