Shock and disbelief

We went to a BBQ at the weekend where much of my time was spent defending my decision to have our children so close to each other and my decision to return to work which was met by a mixture of disbelief and horror.

The way I look at it is, so what that’s its probably going to be hard work to begin with and we’ll be going back to sleepless nights, mountains of nappies and smelling of baby sick, ‘yes’ it probably will also be really hard work balancing a full time job with two children under the age of two, but the fact of the matter is, we are both looking forward to it, we are lucky enough to have brilliant support from grandparents and aunties and uncles which definitely helps and will undoubtedly ease the pressure with the children.

I love being a mum but also love my job, there is only so many coffee mornings and play dates you can attend!! I know it will be challenging to say the least and it will be a matter of being super organised, plenty of early mornings and late nights to catch up.

However my faith was restored when one lovely lady came up to be at the BBQ and said don’t listen to anyone, she was the mother of 3 children 2 of which had an age gap of 17 months said she actually found it quite easy and didn’t know what all the fuss was about, she said didn’t let it bother her and found baby number 2 was much easier and developed a lot quicker as he learnt a lot from his big sister.

Roll on November!!!
