GOOD beer is continuing to pull in punters, according to the Oxford branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.

The branch has more than 1,000 members – a four per cent rise in the past 12 months.

CAMRA chairman Colin Valentine said: “It is fantastic to see our membership continue to grow year on year at such a successful rate.

“We have seen the world of beer change significantly since 1971, with the rise in breweries and rapid closure rates in pubs which is why we continually evaluate purpose and strategy to reflect these changes.”

CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide includes 14 pubs in Oxfordshire.

New entrants were The Chester in Chester Street, the White Rabbit in Friars Entry and The Red Lion in Northmoor.
