MIRANDA Hart is one of the big names attached to a new film produced by an Oxfordshire team.
Juliet Stephenson and Life In Squares actress Lucy Boynton are also lined up to star in Let Me Go.
Former Channel 4 producer Lizzie Pickering, of Lyneham, near Burford, BAFTA-nominated director Polly Steele and businessman Georges Tsitos have raised £500,000 in six months. The cash came through a mixture of private investors and crowdfunding, with donations starting from £10.
Ms Pickering, a founding member of Helen and Douglas House hospice’s fundraising team, said: “One supporter has put in £25 which I know she can barely afford, so is very precious to us and for her equates to the £150,000 someone else has put in.”
The movie is based on the true story of Helga Schneider, whose mother abandoned her as a four-year old to become an SS guard during the Second World War.
Abingdon-born Radiohead drummer Philip Selway is the film’s musical curator.
