The display at the Jacqueline du Pre Music Building, Cowley Place, is artist Roz Miles’s first solo exhibition.

Miss Miles created the prints after sitting in on masterclasses performed by some of the leading classical musicians in their fields.

She said: “I started sketching the musicians and I wanted to capture the feeling of the music as well, so I made sketches where I let the pen dance over the paper to try and represent the feeling of music.”

Among the people who feature in Miss Miles’s pieces is top cellist Steven Isserlis – who is set to perform at the venue at St Hilda’s College, on Friday, November 18. Mr Isserlis is also its patron.

Miss Miles said: “It’s really exciting for me and it feels like the right place for them to be.”

The current exhibition will run until the end of December, with more work on the same theme set to go on show from January to March.
