Tips on how to bag storytelling

FAMILIES honed their story-telling powers thanks to a master class from children’s author Adam Guillain.

The Story Museum event sponsored by the National Association for Primary Education (NAPE) saw the writer putting parents and youngsters through their paces at St Andrew’s School in Headington.

Using intriguing items such as an old doctor’s bag and a fragile vase, families were taught how to make up stories by taking inspiration from unusual objects.

Lesley Williams, chairman of NAPE, said: “Back in September we had 60 teachers learning the basics of storytelling in class.

“On Saturday Adam taught 32 people how to be confident to tell stories.”
