IF Rapunzel’s flowing locks always contain a basket containing more than £1,000, it’s no wonder she’s often asked to ‘let down her hair’.

Amy Noble, who plays the fairy tale heroine in Creation Theatre’s production of Rapunzel or the Magic Pig, delivered a £1,250 donation to Oxford’s Story Museum using her famous ponytail. The basket attached to the end of Amy’s hair contained the takings from last Friday’s performance of the alternative Christmas show, which was dedicated to the museum.
Tish Francis said: “We are incredibly grateful for this donation from Creation Theatre, with whom we share a love of storytelling. It’s such a useful contribution to our development fund.
“We all went down to see the show last Friday and it really is a beautiful bit of theatre and storytelling.”
Rapunzel or the Magic Pig is being performed at the Mirror Tent, at the BMW car plant in Cowley, until January 15.
