A battling unbeaten 85 from Adam Cook rescued Oxford from defeat as they forced a draw away to Radlett in Division 1 of the Home Counties League.
Chasing a target of 233, Oxford slumped to 42-6, and it was then a matter of saving face.
Batting first after winning the toss, Radlett lost two quick wickets, before Steve Lowe and Shane Burger shared a third-wicket partnership of 72.
Lowe then shared a 94 stand for the fifth wicket with Tom Jenkins as Radlett built up a decent total.
Lowe was finally caught by Jack Brooks for 92 off the bowling of Francios Vainker, as Radlett declared on 232-8.
Oxford got off to the worst possible start when Jason Harrison was caught behind first ball.
And things did not get any better as a flurry of cheap middle-order wickets saw them in deep trouble.
However, Cook and Philip Evans then put together a partnership of 89 for the seventh wicket, before the latter went for 15.
That left Oxford needing to survive the last nine overs.
Vainker fell for 14 in the last over, but Cook, who batted the last ten overs with a runner, salvaged an unlikely draw.
