Student Disarms Mugger And Confiscates Jacket
A quick-witted student disarmed a robber of his handgun -- and then "confiscated" his jacket and baseball cap as a punishment.
The 20-year-old from Harrow was walking along Northwick Park Road, Harrow, at 10.20pm on Friday last week when a man approached him, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.
The robber searched the victim's pockets and removed a wallet containing £410 cash and a credit card holder, but as he did so, the victim knocked the gun out of his hand.
In the fight that followed the victim pulled off the robber's jacket and cap. He then grabbed the gun and pointed it at the robber who shouted for his jacket before running off towards Bonnersfield Lane.
The student went to Harrow police station, where officers found that the gun was an imitation. But they discovered a CS gas canister in a pocket of the jacket.
The robber was described as black, 20, 5ft11, with cropped black hair and a strong London accent. He was wearing a black leather bomber jacket and jeans.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Dc Mark Ainslie on 0181 733 3434.
