Nigerians Too Strong

Unbeaten League leaders London Nigerians proved too strong for Twickenham in this bruising encounter, although Ts played with great heart and held the lead for a time.

On a small and muddy pitch, Ts wondered what had hit them when the first move of the match Nigerians put together a fluent handling movement which concluded with a try in the corner. Pulling themselves together, they got stuck into their task and were quickly rewarded with a good penalty from James Clark.

A really determined all-round performance in the forwards and a couple of skilful touches in the back division saw Ts gain in confidence and they took the lead when centre Sam Stone bustled his way to the line. For a period Ts looked the side more likely to score, but two missed penalties meant that 8-5 to Ts was the scoreline for most of the first half. However, errors were creeping into the side's game and just on the interval, Nigerians scored a converted .

The floodgates opened and in the last quarter Nigerians registered three more tries for a final 29-8 result.
