EDDIE Pepperell had a round to forget in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at Carnoustie today.
The Abingdon golfer had a nightmare opening nine holes while playing with former England Test cricketer Kevin Pietersen, carding eight bogeys.
He then shot a triple bogey seven at the tenth, although he did fight back with birdies at holes 12, 13 and 14.
Another bogey at 17, but a birdie at 18 saw him finish at eight over for the round and ten over for the tournament.
As a team, Pepperell and Pietersen finished on one over for the round and tomorrow play their third round of the tournament at Kingsbarns.
