A FAMILY-RUN bakery providing bread and baked goods for more than 120 years has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence from travel website TripAdvisor.

Huffkins bakery and tea rooms have been trading since 1890 in Burford and opened a Witney branch in 2005 and both now have the prestigious award.

The accolade requires a restaurant or cafe to be rated four or five stars on the travel website consistently for a period of twelve months.

Staff at the tea room in High Street, Witney, were "delighted" with the award which the website announced earlier today.

Manager Nina Forty said: "My team and I work hard to ensure everyone who steps through the door has a great Huffkins experience, whether they are local regulars or holidaymakers visiting the area.

"It is an internationally recognised and it will give newcomers the confidence that they can visit Huffkins in Witney and enjoy a quality experience."

The company which started in Burford in 1890 now has tea rooms in Witney, Stow-on-the-Wold, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham and supplies baked goods to the Royal Palaces, Fortnum & Mason and Marks and Spencer.

Managing director, Joshua Taee, whose family own the business, said: "This is a great achievement and well deserved.

"Our Witney team consistently delights guests with a friendly, positive attitude towards customer service."
