A man has been charged with drink-driving after a collision which demolished a bus shelter on the A34.

Ryan Donald, 25, of Burns Avenue, Wallasey, Merseyside, was charged on Thursday with one count of driving a motor vehicle when above the alcohol limit, Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Hannah Williams said.

It followed a crash between two cars on the dual carriageway near Botley which destroyed the bus shelter and put one person in hospital.

Donald has been bailed to appear in Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 2.
