William Blencowe has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 23 years for the murder of Connor Tremble.

The 21-year-old was described as carrying out a "vicious and planned"  killing by Judge Patrick Eccles in Oxford Crown Court.

Blencowe showed no emotion as he was taken down to his cell to begin his sentence.

Connor's mum Lisa Tremble sighed with relief after the sentence was announced and said "always have faith".

Blencowe was found guilty yesterday of murdering 17-year-old Connor after fatally stabbing the teenager at a house in Fairacres Road, Oxford on February 13.

Senior investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Mark Glover, from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “This sentence reflects the severity of the crime Blencowe has committed.

“Throughout this process Blencowe has shown no remorse for his actions which lead to 17-year-old Connor’s death.

“Blencowe has not done anything to help police with the investigation and he will now have a long time in prison to reflect upon his actions.”

Sadly, we all know he will not serve a full life sentence and that the sentencing here in the UK is a joke.
