AN UNSEASONAL panto delighted patients and parents at the Oxford Children’s Hospital.

The production of Robinson Crusoe was put on by the Starlight Children’s Foundation as part of an eight-week tour across the UK.

Eight-year-old Annabelle Glover, from Pitstone, near Tring, was amongst the children in the ward who watched the play. She was rushed into the hospital on Tuesday after breaking her elbow at a gymnastics class.

Annabelle said: “I liked that it was adapted from a film but had lots of random songs with changed lyrics.

“My favourite character was Captain Hogwash because he was really funny and a bit weird.”

Mum Catherine added: “Annabelle had an operation and the next day the pantomime came.

“It was nice for her, she really enjoyed it.”

The Children’s Hospital opened in 2007 at the John Radcliffe site in Headington after a £15m fundraising campaign.
