THIS weekend will see teachers, company chairs and radio DJs from across Oxford transformed into dancing stars at Strictly Oxford.
The contestants, all of whom are dance novices, will be partnered with Headington’s semi-professional dancers from Step By Step Dance School.
This is the third time Strictly Oxford, inspired by BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, has raised money for dementia nursing home Vale House.
The 40-bed nursing home in Sandford-on-Thames provides specialist end-of-life care for people with dementia.
Last year the event raised more than £40,000.
Each of the 16 couples will dance twice, and then judges and the audience will choose the five finalists.
Those couples will dance again, before a winner is selected.
The final is on Sunday at the New Theatre on George Street at 6.30pm, and tickets cost between £15 and £43.
