Teenager on trial accused of assault
A TEENAGER has gone on trial accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl twice in Oxford.
Ashley Clare, of Colemans Hill, Headington, denies committing two counts of sexual assault on Saturday, August 3 last year. The 19-year-old is alleged to have carried the crimes out against a girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, near his home at about 3pm.
Graham Smith, prosecuting, said when police arrested Clare on August 27 last year they found the complainant’s number in his phone.
He added that the defendant was also picked out of a line-up by the complainant.
The trial continues.
