ELVIS donned his blue suede shoes, gelled his quiff and hit the stage as he helped raise more than £3,500.
Mr Presley – otherwise known as Chris Ody or “Cody” from Witney – was one of 15 acts gracing the stage in Langdale Hall in his hometown for the charity event for Oxford’s Sobell House.
And it really was a case of “that’s all right” as £3,645 was raised for the hospice, which is based at the Churchill Hospital, Headington, and cares for people with serious medical conditions.
This smashed the target of £3,000 for the event, which featured local singers and bands, including Rough Cut Ruby, Jamie Felton and Nikki Petherick.
Mr Ody, who performed a 15-minute set with songs ranging from Heartbreak Hotel to Blue Moon of Kentucky, said: “It was a really good event. There were a lot of people there and I think everyone had a really good time.
“I normally do ’60s and ’70s rock and roll but I thought for this occasion I would go as Elvis for a change.”
The event was organised by Kevin Bateman and more than 300 people attended.
Mr Bateman said: “It really was absolutely brilliant. It was a very good night and I am pleased we raised so much money.”
