Kerry Lewendon and her brother, James Lewendon, ran the London Marathon in memory of their late father, John Lewendon.

A terminal cancer fighter, John ran the same marathon thrice between 1999-2001 raising funds for the charity Children with Cancer.

Kerry said: "My Dad lost his fight with cancer on November 14, 2023, and what a fight it was.

"He was determined to fight the cancer for as long as he could so he could be here for us.

"He was told he had three months to live at point of diagnosis, and he fought for eight months right up until his final second.

"He has always been my hero and made me so proud, now its my time to make him proud and I know how much me doing the marathon meant to him.

"Please help me raise money for this charity. My dad ran the marathon three times. No family should have to watch someone suffer from cancer let alone a child."

She raised more than £2,000 for the charity. Anyone who would like to contribute can use the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Kerry-Lewendon1

Running in their father's honour, the Lewendon sibling-duo aimed to turn their difficult situation into something positive and inspire others.

"Please help me raise money for this charity my Dad ran the marathon for three times. No family should have to watch someone suffer from cancer, let alone a child."

John, a former marathon runner, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in March 2023 and passed away in November of the same year.

The siblings, who hail from Didcot, ran the event for the same charity their father supported.

Kerry is a Senior Manager at Centrica who lives in Benson. James is a Sales Director based in London.

"Kerry ended: "He has always been my hero and made me so proud.

"Now it's my time to make him proud and I know how much me doing the marathon meant to him."
